Superstition---- Could It Be?

Superstition is one I do not believe. Stories abound about people deploying witchcraft to spoil the other's growth. Black magic is one such. The sorceress prays to the demons and gives a locket or an amulet that is to be tied on the wrist.to ward off the evil influence. I suspend such ramblings.

Yesterday, a friend of mine dwelt deep on this subject. However much I tried to divert her she went again and again to the theme of witches and their bad actions. She met a man who is a devotee of Kali. The man has been praying to the Goddess for years. It is from his father or precisely from the forefathers he acquired the knowledge.

A week back she along with her relatives went to meet him at his house. She bought flowers fruits and garlands. As she entered the house she saw the man praying before the Goddess. She and her relatives placed the offerings before the Goddess and paid their obeisance to the man.

The relatives after a brief introduction confided to him their grievances. They wanted to know when would their son get married. he said by June the marriage would be fixed and in November the wedding would take place. Satisfied, they came out with a very important query that o when would their property(inherited) be divided. The brother,
mean the eldest one in the family holds control.

The Godman transformed into karuppar, the family deity of the questioner. His eyes became red and popped out from the socket. His tongue came out and he stamped his foot on the ground. It echoed and bellowed. The God-man shouted saying bring a big sickle to me at my altar. By July, your brother would be forced to divide the properties and you would get your share. So saying he fell on the ground. They sprinkled water on his face and he got up looking his self.

I was spellbound when she narrated the episode. Could it be?  Could it not be?
